Terami Hirsch, "Pet"

Musically, this falls somewhere between early Tori Amos and latter-day Aimee Mann, but it's the pointed vitriol in the lyrics that elevates this above musical facsimile. "And when you ride her into the sunset / You might be wise to tie her down and make her your pet ..." boasts an exponentially higher sneer quotient than anything by Hirsch's predecessors.
